Light and Expression
The Aspects of Joe
WRITTEN RESPONSE
The first picture of Joe with the basketball is my favorite it has a really strong theme. I took the picture with the light from above I had Krisjanis holding the light above Joe to create a very powerful and unique look. We had the light very high up to keep the intensity down and it made a kind of soft look on Joe. We used a light reflector in most of the other pictures but in this one we didn't we also never used the umbrella this one was a full power picture without the use of any extremities.
I would call my magazine Spotty Sports because not all of the photos came out like I wanted them to. My theme was sports and aviation because when you play sports you have to shoot for the sky. He was a aviator like Howard Hughes that decided to retire from aviation and board meetings to beating people on the streets of Texas playing ball. And he's not that bad either. The leading lines and the softness of the light make this photo my favorite as long as the contrast make this picture very strong to me.
